How was your audition?Very nerve-wracking!
I was really nervous but felt that I had prepared my material as much as I could so that’s all I could do.
You just need to remember that you are auditioning the school at the same time. The incredible facilities and the friendliness of everyone at LIPA won me over the moment I walked in the door. -
What were the facilities like at school?Really modern, bright and all the rooms felt very welcoming.
-
What 3 items would be your essentials for surviving drama school?Water
A Diary
Strongbow -
What were the lessons you learnt most from, and which could you have lived without? The best lessons that I learnt were about myself as a person.
As cheesy as it sounds, I really grew from a boy to a man throughout Drama School and it’s about learning from the mistakes you make and improving on them. -
What lessons did this school offer on surviving in the big bad world?LIPA did offer some lessons but I feel like they could have gave us a more truthful picture.
The real world is so much harder than I ever expected. -
Do you still have a network of friends from the course or school?Definitely!
My class were really close and all my really close friends have moved to London like myself. I’ve even ended up living with two of them!! -
What was the most inspiring lesson/tip you learnt at drama school? It was from Hannah Waddingham when she came in for a Q&A.
She said you need to go into an audition knowing that you are perfect for the part and that they won’t need to look at anyone else other than you.
Initially when I left LIPA, I was a nervous wreck and lost all my self confidence but as soon as I started applying what Hannah had said, the outcome in auditions have all changed! -
What was the most embarassing moment at drama school?Falling flat on my arse in the movement audition to get into LIPA
-
How was your showcase?I was very lucky to take part in the Acting showcase and also the Musical Theatre showcase, which enabled me to show off myself to the max.
We were lucky with the amount of Agents that turned up and over 3/4 of my class received representation, including myself. -
Which is the local pub where everyone liked to hang out?LIPA Bar
-
If you had to describe your whole drama school experience in a tweet what would it be?The best 4 years of my life
-
What would your current self tell your younger self before you started your drama school?Don’t waste a second!
