The best piece of acting advice Is …Was told to me by Swoosie Kurtz, ‘Never be boring’ -
The best piece of acting advice Is …When I am directing I want to see this from my actors; your own emotions, your heart and your willingness to take directions.
Don’t get up there and try to emote with only one expression, this gets tedious for the audience and they will get bored with you. Use your whole body: actors on a stage are not talking heads.
Feel what you’re saying. Make us believe you mean what you say with your voice and your body.
And REACT to your fellow actors. The show isn’t about you. Its about the story and if you try to stand out and be a ham you are dishonoring the play. Unless of course the play happens to be about a ham. -
